Stéphane Constant

Stéphane Constant is an agricultural engineer, a 1985 graduate of the ENSAIA in Nancy. He has spent the majority of his career in food ingredients and specialty chemical products for international agribusiness, cosmetics and pharmacology groups.

Stéphane began his career in 1986 with the British-Dutch firm Unilever (Carte d’Or ice creams and Calvé mayonnaise) as a young R&D development manager in France, then in 1988 joined their subsidiary Quest International (now Givaudan), a world leader in the perfumery and flavors industry, where he was in charge of sales of ingredients and flavors in France.

From 1993, he continued his career in the food-ingredients sector, first at the American company Solae (now DuPont) as Director of Sales, France-Benelux for protein and soya-based fibers. He then became International Director of Sales and Marketing of flavor ingredients at the Dutch firm Gist Brocades (now DSM).

In late 1998, Stéphane took over as head of a worldwide business unit at Rhodia (now Solvay) in manufacturing and sale of phosphates and texturizers for the food industries. In 2004, following the purchase of the subsidiary by the Danish company Danisco, he joined that company and headed strategic development, marketing and sales for several international business units — first food protection, then sweeteners, and more recently, since the acquisition of the company by Dupont in 2011, of the Active Nutrition division. As Executive Vice-President, he directed several production facilities in the US, in Europe and in China as well as a research center in Finland.

Early in 2015, Stéphane Constant was appointed Managing Director of Malteurop Group.

His job will be to lead the strategic and operational development of the company, one of the largest in the Vivescia Group, in the area of malts and extracts for the food industry and in particular brewing and spirits.
