Alain Caekaert

Alain holds a Master degree in Farming – Economics – Hedging from LaSalle Beauvais. After a few years of experience in Somdiaa (Gabon) and Purina (France), Alain joined Lesaffre Group in 1993 to work as Grains Procurement Director for 8 years. In 2002, he was transferred to their North American Malting division in Milwaukee where he was Director of Grains Procurement and Logistics, and after that, he occupied the same position for ADM until it was bought by Vivescia.

In 2009, Alain joined Malteurop Groupe in France as Group Grains Procurement Director, and in 2014, he transferred to Vivescia Agriculture as Head of Trading department. At Vivescia Agriculture, Alain ensured the trading of the crops of Vivescia’s group farmers for the three entities (around 4 million tons). He was also responsible for deploying strategic project targeting the overall optimization of the cooperative process from farmers to customers on current products (high quality wheat, semolina corn, malting barley) as well as new potential opportunities (edible peas, soya).

In October 2017, Alain comes back to Malteurop Groupe as Chief Commercial, Innovation and Procurement Officer, part of the Executive Committee and will mainly be responsible for defining and developing the Commercial/Innovation/Procurement strategies with the teams in line with our Group core values.
