Malteurop in USA

ADM Malting was acquired by Malteurop in August 2008 and is now named “Malteurop North America Inc.”

The history of the company on the American continent goes back to the end of the nineteenth century and started in Milwaukee, a city historically linked to the Beer industry. In 2016 the Milwaukee malting plant, the Malteurop group’s oldest facility, will celebrate the 150th anniversary of its founding in 1866 in the city that is the cradle and the historic capital of beer on the North American continent.

Malteurop North America continues, as it has for numerous years, to build and develop a real partnership with its customers and all the collaborators of the supply chain.

Malteurop North America recently invested in a brand new, state-of-the-art malting plant in Great Falls, Montana. The plant is strategically located in one of the most intensive barley growing regions in the United States.

Malteurop North America produces basic malts — Pilsen, Pale, Vienna, Munich, and wheat malts — for brewers as well as malts for distillers.

Malteurop North America also produces Kilned Caramel Malts, Crystal Malts, Roasted Malts, and other Specialty Malts.

In 2015, to respond to the specific needs of craft breweries in North America, Malteurop North America launched Craft Master Malt, its new line of premium kiln-dried special malts intended for craft brewers, and also began marketing special premium-quality roasted malts from The Swaen, produced at the malting plant in Kloosterzande, Holland, a Malteurop Groupe company. With its dedicated brand Craft Master Malt, Malteurop positions itself as a partner to craft brewers and the maltster who controls the entire malt supply chain, “from field to flavor,” with an exclusive program of development of malting-barley varieties. Malteurop North America is working to create a direct link between barley producers and craft brewers.

In 2015 the malting plants at Great Falls, Winona, and Milwaukee all renewed their Food Safety certification.
