Malteurop in Portugal
Malteurop became associated with Portugal’s leading brewer, Unicer, through Intermalta, which became Maltibérica’s majority shareholder of record in 1991.
Malting barley is being actively developed in Portugal, significantly reducing imports (from France and Spain).
Through its plant in Poceirão, located near the port of Setúbal, Maltibérica supplies nearly half of all the malt produced in Portugal.
