Getting Raw Materials of the Best Quality
In the process of barley production of high quality, everything starts from the seeds.
Good seeds - good barley
Good barley - good malt
Good malt - good beer.

All sowings are performed under the control of the Malting Barley Development Department with certified seeds of approved varieties (Pasadena, Barke, Scarlett, Astoria, etc.).
Right Varieties - Good Malt
The Malting Barley Development Department launched the program of searching the most appropriate varieties for Ukraine in 1999.
As a result of this activity only validated and certified varieties are used in growing malting barley for MALTEUROP Ukraine’s needs. The key point of the program created conditions for keeping varietal purity performance. This parameter has a major impact on the malt quality.
The Malting Barley Development Department conducts mutual investigations of agronomic features of new varieties from such famous breeding companies as: Secobra, Lochow-Petkus, Saaten Union, BayWa, Ukrainian Plant Institutions.
MALTEUROP Ukraine has its own micro malting pilot station for varieties testing. This is a powerful tool to reveal the strengths and weaknesses of any variety. We call it barley performance.
Quality Control and Quality Assurance
The Malting Barley Development Department together with MALTEUROP’s Quality Service put in practice a multilevel control of malting barley during the intake process.
Following levels of control are in use:
- Control of barley at the farmyards;
- Control of barley during delivery to storage facilities;
- Incoming control at the malthouse checkpoint;
- Monthly based control during storage.
Our labs make full range of analyses required by National and Corporate standards.
In addition to those mentioned, and according to corporate rules to provide the maltster with safe and predictable barley, the Quality Service controls varietal purity and fungal contamination by field and storage fungi.
All this allows the MALTEUROP Ukraine to use the best barley for malting as the main part of guarantee for production of high-quality malt.
