What Is The Base Of Good Beer ?
Any brewer will answer: "Good malt!"
MALTEUROP Ukraine produces malt, it’s is our main product.
Malt is a grain that was allowed to sprout under specific conditions, until the desired modification has been reached. This is done in order to develop the substances which in the future will be the basis of beer. Manufacturing of any malt includes three main steps: steeping, germination and kilning.
Depending on the technological conditions applied in each step various types of malt can be obtained.

MALTEUROP Products
MALTEUROP Ukraine started its production with pale malt in the Chernigov malthouse in 2002.
Today three types of malt are available from MALTEUROP Ukraine from domestic barley of internationally known varieties:
- Pilsen malt
- Vienna malt
- Wheat malt
Pilsen Malt
Pilsen Malt is used for classic Bohemian pilsner beer types. This beer has an aroma rich with a complex malt, and a spicy, floral Saaz hop bouquet. It is light gold to deep copper-gold. The use of soft water allows greater intensity of malt and hop flavors without harshness, with malty sweetness giving way to a crisp, lingering hop bitterness in the finish.
Vienna/Stout Malt
Vienna malt is used for gold or reddish beers. It provides beer with original amber lager, reminiscent of an Oktoberfest but with a less robust sweet malt character. Vienna malt provides the dominant toasty flavor and aroma. Palate has low sweetness but the finish is fairly dry, with low to medium bitterness. Very mild hop flavor and aroma from 'noble' hops puts the emphasis on malt. Light to medium bodied with a reddish-amber to brownish colour. Vienna Malt is obtained under higher curing temperatures during kilning.
Wheat Malt
The wheat malt that MALTEUROP Ukraine produces is used for white (or “weiss”) beer production. A high percentage of wheat malt is employed, typically 50 % or more. These are light, refreshing summertime beers with low hopping rates.
This beer type becomes more and more popular among consumers in Ukraine. MALTEUROP Ukraine started wheat malt production from domestic wheat in 2004.
Also we propose as byproducts from malt production:
- Small barley after sorting (3rd class) for animal feed;
- Rootlets, highly proteinated, as rest product after deculming.
